The site is set in part of the 12th century grounds of the famous Berkeley Castle , scene of one of Britains most notorious slaying , that of King Edward 2nd. He was a weak ruler who was unpopular & his homosexuality made him many ememies. Edward was forced to abdicate at swordpoint by his Queen Isabella in 1327.
Shortly after he was imprisoned at Berkeley Castle, hoping that the cold & stavation would kill him but his jailers did not reckon on his strength & willpower which kept him alive for months. Finally on the night of September 20th Edward was seized, pinned to the floor & had a red hot poker pushed up his back passage. While he was dying it was said his screams could be heard for miles around. The same screams can still be heard echoing around the castle striking dread into whoever can hear them.
The rally site itself is larger than the previous one & level. It has given us chance to expand more.
We can now offer public camping which MUST be prebooked with the Secretary.
Good site access is offered through the Trade / Exhibitors only enterance & a vast public car park is opposite the site which disabled access at the public enterance.
